Irish Pipes

The result of about seven years' study of classic old instruments, these pipes ally a standard type wide-bore concert pitch chanter with a set of narrow-bore drones and regulators based broadly on instruments from around the first quarter of the 19th century. Drawing on the style of Robert Reid (Tyneside) and his immediate predecessors in Ireland  (e.g. Kenna), the drone ferrules are conical and  hand-rolled and the Bass drone has a short, straight-type, end. These drones, as in drones of the period, incorporate a flared resonator section in the end of each drone adding considerably to their stability and harmonic content.
